George Kamboses Jr vs Maxi Hughes – My Prediction

George Kamboses will be fighting Maxi Hughes this weekend in a fight scheduled for 12-rounds ad the Firelake Arena in Shawnee, Oklohoma.

The fight will be broadcasted on ESPN in the USA and Sky Sports Action in the United Kingdom.

Kamboses Jr comes in with a record of: 20(10)-2-0, he has a KO percentage of 45.5% and has went the distance (albeit losses) twice with Devin Haney.

In contrast; Hughes comes in with a record of: 26(5)-5(2)-0, he has a KO percentage of 15%, he had went the distance against Kid Galahad, achieving a majority-decision win.

Kamboses Jr is 30 years-of-age, Hughes is 33 years-of-age. Hughes is arguably at the end of his prime, if he is still in it.

It is very unlikely that Hughes will be able to score a TKO/KO, and he has not fought at the level that Kamboses Jr has.

Hughes’ two TKO/KO defeats do provide some potential for a TKO victory in Kamboses’ favour, but he has been going the distance in his recent fights against Teofimo lopez and Lee Selby.

Finally, I will be picking George Kamboses Jr to win by decision, Maxi hughes is a solid-boxer, but doesn’t have the world-level experience that Kamboses Jr has, who has also fought against elite-opposition.
