Joe Joyce appears to have damage near the left-eye; if this is indeed damage from sparring, what impact will it have on the fight?
Zhang is a hard hitting southpaw, and we’re just over a week from Joyce’s rematch against him.
Zhang will be using jabs to setup his left-crosses, as well as his right hooks, both punches he had a lot of success in the first match.
If Joyce is suffering any damage from sparring, this will exasperate the potential for injury during a match.
Zhang will likely use this to his advantage, and aim to pepper Joyce with right-hands.
Alternatively, Joyce can try to protect his left-eye more, and aim to counter Zhang’s right-hand attacks.
Anyhow, it will be interesting to see how this develops.
Finally, my prediction for this fight, has not changed; I will be picking Zhang by TKO, I don’t care whether this occurs early, or later in the fight.
But my thoughts are, is that it will occur from round 6 and onwards.
