Jack Catterall dominates Jorge Linares in a shut-out victory at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, earlier today with Linares being sub-par.
Arguably, Linares had only won 2-rounds in this fight at most, barely-scraping a round.
Catterall had got to work from long-range, using steps to maintain distance, and working jabs to setup his counter left-hands.
The southpaw stance had served Catterall well, as Linares struggled to land a decent punch when coming forward.
It wasn’t an entertaining fight, but it certainly solidified Catterall’s status as a contender, beating a former world-champion with ease.
Linares was slowly coming forward, using the odd slip here-and-there, but not able to successfully work combinations.
Catterall had good success working combinations when getting Linares trapped on the ropes and near the corners.
Based on this performance, I think Catterall can comfortably win the rematch against Josh Taylor; of course, this was a faded Jorge Linares.
The following tweet is a pair of predictions that I had made publicly, which have both been successful at the time of writing this post:

Finally, there are options for Catterall; for instance, he could go on to fight the winner of Devin Haney vs Regis Prograis.
